Icron Technologies and USB Extenders

March 18th, 2010

Located in British Columbia, Canada, Icron® leads the way in the enlargement and evolution of USB technology. Previously USB range was just around sixteen feet, a limitation that Icron has exceeded to around one point two-four miles. Along with other big computer hardware giants, Icron claims membership with the USB Implementers Forum. The only extension tech product accepted by that community following compatibility screening was Icron’s ExtremeUSB. Such an achievement underlines the excellence of our products.

It would not be out of place to discover an Icron product being employed for many different purposes. What connects PC to TV connectivity, security and surveillance, and interactive digital signage? The revolutionary USB extension tech, of course. The gains to industry and commerce will be encouraging if the enabling tech can be demonstrated to be highly practical. Therefore any business should easily be able to get hold of Icron’s USB tech.

The ExtremeUSB kit can operate with many different configurations in mind including branded and private-label USB extender products or developer kits. Icron’s Ranger and Rover devices can be distributed either under their original name or re-branded.

For ease of use and efficiency, there are different power preferences that enable USB extension over any media. For example, the newly produced WiRanger Wireless USB 2.0 hub allows a wireless link between several different devices including scanners, hard drives and isochronous web cams. A bit more about the WiRanger — firstly, we should discuss its radio which is transmitted at a globally approved 802.11g. In the absence of cables, the set comes with a four port hub and a USB attachment, allowing a distance of between 30 to 40 meters. The WiRanger through its power selections and wireless capacities greatly increases your effectiveness.

Even so, Icron makes many more USB products in the 1.1/2.0 range. Icron has a well deserved reputation for excellence — their USB peripherals are continuously tested and can work in previously unsuitable locations. For Icron, USB research, development and advancement is a work in progress and a worthwhile continued ambition.
